Spy Gear Signal Launcher: Easy coupler mod Empty Spy Gear Signal Launcher: Easy coupler mod

The Spy Gear Signal Launcher (or SGSL) is another blaster that uses the big blasts internals. This one is the most expensive of the lot and the smallest. its around the size of a Dart Tag blaster. Its a riot to play with stock. the signal missiles go about 45 feet with some speed. and whistle along. oversized ammo kicks ass.

Modding this thing to fire stefans is simple as pie. you don't even have to open it.

Here it is in all its stock glory. if your wondering, the trigger is the button on the back.

cut the barrel, leaving about 19mm still on there.

Now here was my sticking point. I thought this was an Air restrictor, so i tried to remove it and fucked shit up. I cracked the barrel (as you can notice in image 2) and jammed the firing pin open when i got at it with a screw driver. To make your life easy, just leave it there.

If you do want to remove try a dremel, instead or barging in there with wire cutters and a screwdriver. Just remember to dremel carefully or you will cut through the valve behind it.

go ahead and stick a 15mm coupler over the stub. the way i stuck it on was to wrap the stub with electrical tape so the coupler had a nice fit over it, then hot glued it in place.

I used my big blasts 12 inch Hep20 leap speedloader on it and it shot my dart out just as good as my big blast can, maybe even faster. Unfortunatly the Spy Gear Signal Launcher is not as easy to aim as a big blast with its small size and odd trigger, but its still awesome.

I was going to do a review. Got mine yesterday. NVM

How much did you get yours for and where?
I got mine from Uncle Petes for 30 down from 55.
This is like modding a LBB but easier. Take off the guard and your practically ready. Stocks darts have a loose 1 mm extra space. You dont need to take it apart to mod the barrel.

Stock darts go a lot further than those LBB ones. LBB dont even whistle.
How many times do you pump yours? I did 5 and it easily surpassed LBB stock.

WV17 your Uncle Petes should stock these. Maybe because the Uncle petes close to me were new so they had more stock and many of the nerf was on sale.

I ordered mine from HobbyCo for $30, but I had to pay shipping on top of that

10 pumps, thats when he over pressure valve kicks in.

The top signal rocket holder looks like a good place to rest the clip of an RSCB. Also I could replace the stock pump with a hornet pump which may speed up pump time.

I didn't take any internal pics, but I did have to open it when I jammed open the valve. But here is a pic I found on Nerf Haven in the internals directory. (Image by hereticorp)

Problay eaiser to cut about 1cm off the front of the barrel.

I just realised that this gun is all black with no saftey markings. I'd better break out the paint.

Nice mod Roger, good pics to. Is the gun overall more sturdy than a big blast?

How much is the shipping from HobbyCo? I'm thinking of ordering a few but only if the shipping is reasonable.

It does seem quite sturdy. the trigger is nice and beefy.

I found this image on nerfhaven by just some bob that shows the trigger.

The shipping was $12.50 for 2 of them.

Thanks mate, trigger does look a lot more solid, I have 2 big blasts with broken triggers, so I'm hoping this is a better alternative.

    $12.50 cheap as chips.
