So given that Ahtanie had 3 AT2k's to trade, and I only got one.. that means at least 2 other dudes on here have 2k's

I'm taking my sweet sweet time on the turret seeing if I can pull off Ryan Mcnumbers 'dank hard' rear loading At2k mod. however I wanted to use this gun to (figuratively) rape people in the meantime.

This mod singles the At2k, but does not damage any of the components so you can re-instal the turret later, as I intend to do when I finish work on it.

First open it up. The cap around the pump is trouble. I used a hot knife to make seams, but be super careful to not cut into the plunger tube.

Set aside the turret. MAKE SURE you do not lose the little o-ring that sits in the back of the turret-tank coupler. DO NOT LOSE IT.

Ok now. Super Super hard. Try and keep up with me people....

Wrap the air outlet of the tank in E-tape until PETG fits snugly over the top.

So easy right? It needs to be airtight, but my fit allows me to slip my PETG on and off, so I can rear load my darts, essentially the e-tape forms an internal coupler. ZERO deadspace. BOOM.

Apply hot glue to these two holes to plug the pump

Congrats, you now have the ability to break the shit out of your 2k if you overpump it. DONT OVERPUMP IT. DO NOT LEND TO NOOBS.

Also, if you feel like pulling the trigger with it pumped up to ridiculous pressures (I know right? why the hell would you want to do that.....)

I'd glue the spring. when the glue is drying press the trigger mech in so it can make some impressions in the glue, other wise your shell wont fit back together as the trigger will sit to far forward.

Finally find something awesome to fill the horrendous hole.

This is why I win at life

Aaaaand We're done. close it up.

    6 pumps.

    95-110'

    12" PETG

    yeah.

My housemates already FEAR this gun.

And then later when I finish my turret it can just go straight back on, no worries.

    Great mod AJ,

My 2k broke today. The tube that transfers the air from the pump to the chamber broke. Air flow is ruined.

Just replace it.. 5mm pressure rated vinyl tubing. Not difficult. Get some 5mm barbed fittings and solvent wield them on if your connections are broken.

    Nice right up!

Yeh glueing the trigger is very necessary, i figured that out the hard way.
will you be passing the goo gauge?

It will be awesome seeing one of these babys rear loading. i didn't think there would be enough room.

Do not pump it 10 times before asking how much it should be pumped.

Lol I like that foam face thing haha.
That looks easy enough but now comes the hard part...actually getting my hands on an AT2K.
How much is to much to pay for one?

It's the size of a maverick and shoots over 100 with little modification..

I dont know if there is a too much

Seriously people will pay 80-90 for a longshot...These seem to work alot better...

They sell online in forums for about 20-35USD consistently though, so that should give you a rough idea

I want an AT2K Adam, not you. I may be getting my hands on one for $46 including shipping for a NIB AT2K. I only have $25 at the moment.

The reason i want one is because they look so easy to mod and have awesome ranges.

Did some proper range tests today

gun flat, 6' up ( my shoulder height)

    Barrel: 12" PETG (Informers)
    Darts: 40mm CDTS - 00 weighted

    Dart 1: 117
    Dart 2: 123
    Dart 3: 104
    Dart 4: 102
    Dart 5: 119

This where the darts hit the ground, not where they landed eventually after dart skip, you need two people to measure accurate ranges.

So as you can see. This fucking rules.

Just bumping this old thread... because I actually did do the mod and I needed somewhere to talk about it.

I added a small variation, instead of one PETG barrel, I did a 'speedloader' type mod with two barrels ( suppose I can provide photos if needed, but you can probably visualize it in your head). And to quote AJ from his TS video, it's hitting 'f--- off ranges'.. went from about 22m with sili tips to about 32m.

Compared to my 3 inch PETG turrets - it's a perfect example of how lengthier barrels make a huge difference in range.

    This is a great writeup!

Easy to understand and easy to follow.
The 2k turret is kinda tough to work with, to get a good seal.

This is really good, quick and easy.
    And the :0 is EPIC!

    Good Job!
