Oz Nerf Wiki idea.

The Oz Nerf wiki, it may also go by the encyclopedia o' Oz nerf, the Oz Nerf codex or the Aussie nerf builders/moders bible.

So basically it would contain actual facts (which must be proven) about blasters. Availability in Australia, a list of mods attached to the blater's page, distances and limitations, and what game modes the apply to in Oz (only saying that last one due to AJ's (and others) position on the big blast)

Game modes, this will include objectives and rules. Pics and video examples would be good too.

Also in this wiki can be examples and how to's about mass producible homemades.

And finally an encyclopedia of construction methods and tools.

A Nerf wiki exists at present however it is international and it is stock guns only.

Once this is up and running it will be a Oz nerf achievement which can shine proudly on our fridge *cough* navigation bar.:D

So there is my idea.

Umm, hmm. Unless anyone knows how to make a wiki in PHP, or write a script which daily sinks account details between the two websites... Im not sure mate, but it does sound difficult.

Use your head man. Aj's shit doesn't get shit all publicity. If we link oznerf to there... it could work... Also Aj's site is for 'modding'. Not your general know all.

Stuff like 'capture the flag' etc etc. Would be useful information. The way you're going on about this Frankie27, it doesn't make this site sound very user friendly. People are going to ask questions galore and no matter what is enforced or what you say won't prevent this from happening. With the new Wiki site it will be new people friendly and stuff. That's why OzNerf is getting so much 'useless' topics because there isn't any information given out.

I've found other forums to have wiki's and they work very well.

Even with a wiki people are still going to ask stupid questions, its not that can't find this information (there is plenty around) there just to lazy to look. Frankie is right, why re-write it. Its not going to change anything.

I still think we should make an OzNerf wiki.

The 'library' section of that site does not have much on it for now, the social go forum platform is shit for displaying lots of content, and the effort is being put into making the permanent site.

The community will eventually become what we set out for it to be, it just takes some time to achieve that and I'll be the 1st to tell you that it is in a very 'temporary' state at the moment and that as it stands this website is currently the strongest community with the highest participation, albeit if alot of that is not really very useful information

This is already implemented in my website currently. I just need a couple of solid 24 hour sessions to fill the site with content and I can release it.

The wiki software is already inbuilt into the site itself, as for content I will hopefully work a system in with registered users submitted content and it will be approved by global moderators or administrators to verify content meets requirements. The requirements are simple yet so hard to achieve for some... highly pictorial and good english!
