Re: Stampede ECS- a review..
Well i have got my first Stampede, looks good, but work LOL its a fail out of the box.
Load up the batteries, pull the trigger and a dart falls to the floor. look inside barrel appears to be full of darts, point barrel at floor 4 darts fall to the floor.
What happened, the stock spring split the plunger tube.
So what do i think of the stampede? It very cheaply made, you can see that the plastics used in its construction are of less quality then than the vulcan. Hasbro is cost cutting. There were a few screw missing as well, 2 on the the outer body, 2 internally. If this is the direction Hasbro is going to go, then it wont be long until the gun breaks the second you touch it.
Still i will return this gun either Thursday or Friday and if i am extremely lucky there will be another in stock i can exchange it for otherwise, it will be life without a stampede for now.

Re: Stampede ECS- a review..
Sorry for my harsh review, seems i might have done something wrong and as i was already depressed i went into a flat panic.
The plastic used is not of the same quality as used on previous Hasbro products. As for how it will handle some high end springs i am scared to try, but i will, next week.

I added some counterweight to mine. They're so tail heavy it's not funny.
I'm reluctant to mess with motors and voltage so in the end i've just removed ar padded the plunger.
Also sleeved the barrel with brass. The standard barrel is a tighter fit than the vulcan but the darts still flop around on their way out.
Also not too impressed by the 18 shot clips.
12 would have been sufficient in a way,and wouldn't look so daggy either.
Not a bad blaster with a few mods mainly just the weight of the battery sled that annoys me. And lack of a scope just to jazz it up.

Enjoy your stuff Pocket, always a little more in-depth than the average review
Just a query; what other blasters/rails does the shield attatch onto?

Almost all other N-Strike guns, except for the Vulcan.

That's great to hear! I wasn't too sure if it was going to fit on the rail of the Longshot; should have mine next week hopefully so will get to play around then

Re: Stampede ECS- a review..
I have just finished working with a spring upgrade for a stampede, but have come across a problem. The problem is that the voltage from the D-cell batteries is too low to compress much more than the stock spring. When i put in my 12v battery there was no problems with loading. I will go purchase some 12volt batteries tomorrow that will fit inside the battery compartment of the stampede/vulcan.

You can get 12 volt batteries but its lighter if you use a 12 volt RC battery Uin13 on youtube is going to do it soon and no dought he will post a video of it.Servulus wrote:I have just finished working with a spring upgrade for a stampede, but have come across a problem. Re: Stampede ECS- a review..
I think I'll just point out to everyone here that if you're willing to deal with soldering your own connectors and such, the LiPo batteries from Hobbyking.com are incredibly cheap and absolutely perfect for a stampede. You'll want 3S or 4S I'd say.

Re: Stampede ECS- a review..
well I don't know what went wrong with yours selverus (soz if name was spelt wrong) But my stampede is really good. I did notice that is wasn't the normal bright yellow colour it was faded. My only complaint the range wasn't what the reviews pieped them up to be.
