Now this inst just going to include FBR stefans, Im gonna cover CDTD's and Blue Foam (Informers) aswell
Ok, lets get started.
Stefans FBR
Now there are a few few ways to make darts, The most simple, and know way is to use FBR (Foam Backer rod) aka Caulk Saver (think I spelt it right)
So what you want to do Is cut your FBR to size, I use 1.5 Inch darts because I think that are a good general size.
I made a little mitre box thingy by using some U shape Alu available form bunnings with 2 lines cut in it where I put the knife though.
To cut the darts I use a cheap $5 Stanley knife from bunnigns, and it works nicely.
Now you have some blanks, but you might realize a flaw in them, they are, as I like to refer to them 'Curly Fries' because they are bendy and that just wond do, so get a pillow case, or better yet a mesh bag, and put you blanks into it and put them in your dryer on high for 7-15 mins. (you will see a picture of the bag later in the post with blue darts in it, I only took one picture)
Now you have your blanks, Using your hot glue gun, (I use a dremel one because it had dual temperatures) and use the low setting unless you have a low temp glue gun. Drill a hole into the fount whit the tip of the gle gun, then put a small bit of glue in and add your weight, I Use 00 Split-shot sinkers because that are good value, 200 for $5 from K-Mart
And it should look something like this
Now put a nice dome on top wiht the glue gun, and to stop them form webbing up, twist the glue gun around the dart and then pull up. It should look something like this
Then put it in your holder and let it dry. (you will see a picture of the holder further down the post)
CTDT's
Now that isn't the only Way to Make Darts, you can use useless suction cup darts or whistlers to Make CDTD's CTDT Stand for Converted Dart Tag Dart and what it is, is the head cut of a stock dart and then a weight and hot glue tip is then added to dart. They are pretty simple to make. Make sure your glue gun is on low. Also, with these darts, you don't need to straighten them, but they may bend overtime, same with blue foam, so you can cut a straw to strengthen them.
First get your dart

And Cut the Head off

Now put a bit of Hot Glue in the hole, let it dry a-bit and then put your weight in. (I used a craft bead in this one, I wouldn't really recommended using small ones as they don't have enough weight. Just Use 00 Split-Shot Sinkers.)
And then put a dome on it.
Then put it in your holder and let it Dry
Stefans Blue Foam
Informer, A member on the site, sells a custom made foam which is blue and had the same dimensions as stock darts, but its alot cheaper, and can be used in clip guns with stock breeches (ie. Longshot, Recon, Raider) or stock guns.
First you want to cut your darts to about 2 Inches
And now you want to straighten it, put it in a mesh bag or pillow case and then in the dryer for about 5-10 mins on high.
and then do the same as a CDTD, Put some hot glue in the hole, let it dry and then put your wright in and then put a dome on the top.
And then set it to dry.
and there you do, 3 Different types of darts, there are more, but im not going to cover them (ie. Slug darts, washer darts, Screw Cap Darts) because I dot use them. and thus don't have the materials to make them.
Here's a Picture or the different types of darts, sitting in the holder I made. The Holder is just Peices of 16mm Alu Nested into 20mm Conduit then glued onto a peice of wood.
LittleBro's Way:
The following steps of cutting up the blue foam has been done, read above.
Left to Right...
1. Washers in Snap Cap
2. Hot glue in the Snap Cap (small one)
3. Smash it on the blue foam
Complete.
