I think you should be able to delete your locked posts so they cant harm newbs.

Thing is, what occurs most of the time is that someone necros an old writeup.
If it gets locked, it allows the information to still be available, but stops people from posting in it.
Also, in regards to your irrelevant poll, you can't stop people swearing at wars. If they abuse someone, then sure, kick them out, but its hard to not let one slip if you take a dart to the face from a high powered blaster.
Also, if you want to put a poll in, at least make it somewhat connected to your post.

If the thread has been locked, it can still be viewed but no comments can be made by standard members. The only reason to delete a thread would be if their is an offensive act by a member, or it has completely gone off topic. We try not to delete threads in case someone wants to look back on some information in that thread.
