No. Didn't know that pliers could have a cutting bit:/
Anyway I used this weird black clammy thing and with a bit of body weight the spring came right off.

Yeh, most automotive/electrical pliers have either a cutting section inside the jaws, or on the back of the jaws if they're fencing pliers. Easiest way is with a set of diagonal pliers, or small bolt cutters.
Cheers,

Howdy folks, I've recently bought myself a Raider CS-35 and I was wondering if there are any mods I can do to the ajustable stock and what they involve?

Re: The Questions Thread.
You should be able to just force it in there with some precompression unless you are saying there are too many coils to prime it properly? You will lose a little power if you cut the spring down.

It does fit with some compression. You just have to hold your tounge right when you put it together.
@ShadowSniper:
What sort of mods are you thinking of?

I'm not quite sure; something to let hold clips like the Recon's or even an aesthetic mod would be alright. I've been wondering, what does the power stock mod involve?Dietzie wrote:likes2mod11 wrote:I have a oznerfnerd longshot spring and it is a bit too long for my quadshot's plunger tube and i was wondering if I cut it down to fit will decrease ranges

Re: The Questions Thread.
It would take a lot of work to make it hold clips unless rubberbands is your idea of a clip holder.
Aesthetic mod wise, let your imagination run wild
Power stock: A mod where an additional spring is situated to act on the back of the plunger (R/P type blasters) Have a look through the modifications forum. Anything applying to Recon/Alpha Trooper will also work.

Re: The Questions Thread.
Are there any upgrade springs which fit in the Berserker apart from the BT DT Furyfire/Hyperfire spring?
I'd like to get an upgrade spring but given BT only offers express shipping which is pretty expensive and I'm not intending to get much else.
I'm not intending to open it a day or more before I mod it because I'm lazy and there's loads of screws, and I'd like to be able to test fire it beforehand.
I'd like any springs from other common blasters or available from hardware stores.

Despite not being a fan of air-tanks, why not hook up the airtank to the turret, as seenhere? It seems to me to be a far more efficient use of the entire blaster. I guess you could try a c836 from bunnings if you wanted to, no saying how long it will last though...

Kewl zunes spring? Maverick spring? Or wait a while and order a OMW spring? Shipping is cheap from them.

I'd rather keep the airtank and turret separately so it is double function (rapid fire and a long range or shotgun). I may try a C-836 but I have one in my NF and it's pretty hard to prime (I'm real weak).

I'll try a Kool Zums and Spectre spring (don't have a spare Mav spring) to see how it fits. I'd rather not have too powerful a spring inside because it'll make priming really difficult, especially with the turret rotation mech linked to the shotgun grip.
Alternatively I'll just rebarrel and see how it is first XD.

I haven't been to the Carlo Court Target in ages, but I'm pretty sure the Target at Castle Towers has some left in their stock. Last time I went there which was 2 weeks ago, there were 3 boxes of them left.

The one in my town seems pretty useless lately.
Has stock of all the normal everyday stuff but not the stuff you want.

The Targets in my area haven't stocked for an extremely long time. So I guess it's just a nationwide thing; that they don't get their stocks after a while after new years. I'm not sure, this is just what I infer.

Re: The Questions Thread.
Ok, so I'm going to make a simple shotgun grip for my longshot, following the tutorial on sg nerf and I've got two questions:
1. I can't find polycarbonate sheets anywhere, will acrylic do?
2. Will two pieces of 3mm glued together with epoxy be as strong/almost as strong as one piece of 6mm?

Re: The Questions Thread.
1. I can't be certain but you may need to double up on acrlic as polycarbonate is much stronger.
2. Epoxy should be fine.
Just remember acrilic will snap if you have to stronger spring combo so it might be better to make the arms out of some kind of metal rod.
Hope this helps.

polycarb
for anybody looking for industrial plastics / polycarb I would highly recommend a newcastle company called specialised wholesale and plastics, I have not yet used them for nerf related products, but I have used them on other occasions and they are a very helpful and professional company. check em out.

Re: The Questions Thread.
Should I be scared of my AT plugner breaking?
I've done a simple AR removal and release hole taped.
When it shoots, it makes a pop sound rather than a slamming sound.
It's not padded either.
I could easily pad of reinforce the plunger, but I'm low on epoxy and lazy to open it up again.
EDIT: Should have mentioned, I don't dry fire it - I always count my shots.
