Search helps but I'll answer anyway.

    Which blaster?

Lots of reported failures with the aluminum stuff, but when they work they're rather powerful.
If just going for stage 1, just compare it against any other spring. They're all pretty similar.

Well no one will know until they release the kit (unless someone can comment on the recon version of the kit).

The easiest and most basic way to say this is is ..

There are different types of polly that can used to make those kits or said parts.
If they used the not so good stuff then its going to break.
I'm not saying they used the cheap or poor quality stuff by the way.

But by all means please get the kit, put it through hell and back.
Then tell us what its like : )

Apart from that you could just mod the blaster yourself.
Get a spring from here ...

    Then troll/search the here ... http://www.oznerf.com/f1-modifications
I believe littlebro have a very nice Alpha Trooper write up, just seach for it!

    Good luck : )

Edit, You type up a response, go to the shops, then when you get back someone's said just about the exact same thing. :/

I've busted x2 recon massacre bolt sleds, fired roughly 5-10 darts, they send replacements rather fast but I'm not going to bother anymore.

Maybe I just has bad luck

Interesting, got a few question ...

which spring did you use with the OMW boltsled? sock? the one they supply with the kit or you're own spring?

Wow that really did pop didn't it.
Looks like the top one broke clean? or is it just cracked?

I guess it depends on how the cast it.
You could have been really unlucky and got the rejects from that batch.
Or they just use crap polly.

Wonder if anyone else had the sled break in the same place?

Top one is broken through, well they said they haven't had many returns but i don't know how much truth there is in that. They are sending me a new one so third time lucky i guess.

I have one on pre-order for both the AT and Longstrike. Though I did have one issue with my Stage 2 chomping all my darts, 10 minutes with the dremmel soon fixed that up.

As a side note, might it be a good idea to have a review thread for aftermarket mod/nerf components? Might make things easier to find and perhaps catalogue.

It's really quite interesting that it broke where it did as, to my knowledge, there isn't much force acting on that horizontal section. You'd think that all the force would be on the vertical part where the priming handle hooks in and the breech is attached.

You will find that with the stronger springs it puts a lot of force on the boltsled
This tends to add a twist long the horizontal arms on the sled(if priming from once side).
Also jams and/or forcing the boltsled forward causes unwanted pressure on it.
If you have to force the sled forward then ...
    - You are having Jam problems?
    - you need to clean/lube the sled rail points?
    - check the sled alignment to make sure nothing twisted or bent.

Also a few other reason behind it are Jamming of the breach ...

Most of the time Jams happen in reverse plunger systems when the sled is returning forward ready to chamber a dart.
The dart pops out of the breach because the seal on the plunger is 'too good' and the air can not escape from anywhere but the exit hole.
You can stop the problem by adding this FIX to the reverse plungers.
Thanks to Philb2323 for that one : )

Well this is my experience so far with reverse plungers and after doing that fix my modded reverse plunger guns work flawless now!
I have never broken a sled yet and really don't want too. But it will happen one day I am sure.
Just a note, NONE of my modded reverse plunger guns have OWM kits.
