Just saw this thread, figured I'd post what I got. It's all fairly simplistic, badly-recorded, and most real music people will realize it's just me block-chording my heart out, but Youtube seems to like it. *Shrug*

Skrillex or similar is not music in anyway shape or form.
Skrillex is what an severe epileptic fit would sound like if it had and Audio representation.

    Hey mate,

I'm not normally one to listen to amateur recordings etc, but that stuff is really good.
I can understand why Youtube is liking it!!

Ugh, what did you use? MovieMaker? If that was an attempt to DJ, it was a very poor one.

Ark: 95% I agree with, there are a few exceptions with Skrillex however. Far too overhyped and overrated.

Sadavi5: That is some amazing stuff there. Wholeheartedly agree with Clunk.

Speaking from personal experience, epileptic fits are no laughing matter. And even if they had an audio representation it would sound nothing like that. I'm not so much ticked off at the epilepsy comment but rather the ignorance displayed as to your understanding of dubstep. Yes it's true some of it can sound like a robots chucking a hissy fit, but a lot of it is actually very good and isn't some random shit thrown together by a hallucinating toddler.

I have several friends who Suffer from epilepsy...But they rather than make it "taboo" they take it as a part of life accept it and make jokes this is no only for they comfort but for the comfort of others but im not going to get into a debate about this because most people dont have an understanding of epilepsy or how to deal with it.

As pointed out Skrillex IS NOT Dubstep nor is it music. My understanding of music is quiet vast I listen to a huge array of artist and genres. Anyone can do what Skrillex does.Playing a Fart with deep base on loop.

But take Artist Such as Beethoven (he was going Deaf in his later years yet still could write loops around anynone) or Johnny Cash in his Later years (alot of his music was quiet dark)as he was more or less sining about a personal redemption for hs life (check out his last interview)

Skrillex is not the traditional dubstep the old purists know, he does the more modern kind. But he doesn't simply do dubstep. And if dubstep is so easy why don't you try making some? If you can make something even close to the level of someone like skrillex or omnipony then you can be as harsh as you like. It really pisses me off when I see these people who act like they know everything about it and they're all like "oh yeah, silly dubstep anyone can make it easily."

Actually brostep isn't the official term for it. Call it what you like but many people are still going to call it dubstep. Just saying, but yeah, let's get back to the original topic K?

Thanks, guys! Glad you liked it. It's true, the recordings themselves are a bit on the, er... terrible side. But as long as the content's there. *Shrug*

Since people are actually, y'know, in this thread, I'll post a few more. These are from my old 'band', for which I did vocals and piano. The guitar dude is my friend David Barton. Together we were... "The Project That Currently Has No Name". Easy to see why we broke up so quick. :p

Nudder one from me. Not like my normal stuff... since I graduated college, I no longer have a piano, so I have to make due with what I have, and what I HAVE is a workshop, Audacity, and a very, VERY old synth. So, I made a song out of short samples of synth riffs and workshop sounds. I'll add more complexity and lyrics later.

Great band me and my mates found a few months ago. their studio is literally about a 20 minute drive from my house (which is awesome).

The bands name is hermitude; there latest album "hyperparadise" is awesome and i highly reccomend buying it or downloading it
