Photon Burst Power Pistol: AR removal and removable clip

Photon Burst Power Pistol (what a ludricously convluted name that is) is kind of like the strange love child between a Maverick (Priming method), Nitefinder (Light on half trigger pull) and a Powerclip (non removalbe raising clip). I got it at Toys'r'Us for $20 and its made by Toy quest under the Air Zone name. Stock ranges are as it says on the box 7.5 meters



Take your stock Photon burst and remove the 2 screws closest to the clip. there you will be able to coax the clip out. Its all we are going to be working on for this mod.




See the holes at the back of the clip. these need to be drilled out. use a drill bit thats a little larger than the existing hole to increase air flow. but not too big or you will ruin the clip to plunger tube seal.



Like so. Make sure to dr burr the holes so the clip slides smooth. Use a sharp knife and run it around the inside of the hole.



To let the clip be removed from the top "magstrike style", you will need to cut this tab back. try your best to make it exaclty like the track its between.



then you will need to remove these flaps. just rip 'em out. the plastic they are made from is soft, so they will give up easy.



like so. now you can load the clip in through the top. And if your name is Blingy McRichRich you can buy multiple Photon bursts for multi clip action.

With the AR's out, it now hits about 12 meters with the stock darts. I need to do some more extensive range tests, but it seems to work ok with stefans.

I don't know why but I kinda dig this... if we could somehow get a NF plunger tube in there.....

Great initial mod, would really love to see some internal pics soon. $20 is a little for a pistol.... but eh who am I kidding I'll probably buy 3

For some reason this gun appeals to me I think it's the clip.

What darts does it come with

It reminds me of a plasma pistol off fallout 3.

I am so buying one!

The same ones the 8 shooter comes with. but these ones are softer. the 8 shooter ones where as hard as buzzbee ones.


The grip on this gun hurts my hands bad.

There is a problem with the clip falling back down. It hardly moves when it isn't primed, but when it is the clip can slide eaiser. The Plunger tube moves ever so slightly back when primed.

Wow. That gun is a tank. I havn't seen that before I don't think?

What can be done to beef up the spring? Can we take a look at internals?

I must say this guys for the safety of your gun (DO NOT CHANGE THE SPRING OR ADD ANOTHER SPRING)

Reason: your back bolsted will snap just like what happened to mine the other day its just to much strain. The closest you will get to a successful mod for this gun is tec -6 spring or if you really could be stuffed doing is making A alu bolsted and alu plunger.

But over all its a great gun knowing you can keep buying these things and use the clips like a magestrike im in the process of this at the moment and also if you are a LED gun modder like AJ

Yellow stock air zone sticky darts and it comes with 8 darts
