An anime/cartoon series about mecha suits and space battles. Was pretty epic from what I remember of it.

I do like potato cannons, I have a pretty large combustion cannon that has some decent recoil, and a smaller one that I'll eventually set up metered propane on.
I sometimes design my own BMX parts with AutoCAD, and send off the designs to have them built. so far I have had 2 frames, 2 sets of pegs, 2 handlebars and a pair of bearing spacers made. the latest frame has lasted 2 years and still going strong so I'm pretty proud of that.
R31 skyline as well, actually that's more of a money pit...
...and the latest one is a little R/C chopper that I've taken the side lights off to make it lighter, and then I might rig up a battery mount for a trustfire battery. anyone know if you can run more than 3.7v through it without frying the main circuit board? because it needs moar powah! than the stock battery, but I don't want to kill it...

CBF yes you can run more thsn 3.7v but not much you neeed to hop up your motor and get a few other parts.
How is the 31 a money pit?

ahh sweet. well, the R31 started as a trashbag with a dead gearbox, and whole bunch of other little things wrong with it, but I paid bugger all for it. since then I fitted a new box, fixed a fuel injector leak, put on extractors, strut braces, lowered springs, slotted brake discs and a few interior bits and it *was* going pretty well, but the 1st gear syncro has died, and the diff was getting a little noisy, and then finally now the fuel pump has died too. so before i get it on the road again i've gotta pump more money in to it... again...

I do my own music electronics adjustments etc, but only on the guitar end. Never really meddled with pedals or amps besides fixing crappy input/output jacks.

BMX frames and parts i made them back in the mid 90s, still have some in the shed today.
My first car a Toyota Landcruiser SWB, stipped it down to its chassis and rebuilt it from there.... bought it in 1984, for $2000. Sold it in 1987 for $12'000. I was both lucky and unlucky but that's another story.

yeah... damn qld p-plate laws are the only thing that's stopped me from dumping an rb25 head on the rb30 block an running a little turbo. i'll probably end up doing that soon anyway and suffer not driving it for 12 more months.
and can you really go that far with a stock 3.7v r/c circuit board? i don't really know anything about electronics other than knowing how to voltage mod stampedes and vulcans haha

@matt.chopper - Haha, a potato cannon. I've made a pneumatic air gun that shot the rubber heads of lanard darts and marbles. That was quite fun.
Ah back in my young days. Can't believe it's been almost 4 years since I've made it. It no longer exists though,.

Yeah I built my own bookcase... It turned out pretty good, just basic planks of wood drilled and screwed together.

its a drag-line excavator. im assuming you had to build/put together part of it after it arrived at the mine site?

Yeh, it's a Bucyrus Erie Dragline - used in the mines for removing the overburden to expose the coal.
Those "vacuum cleaner's" at the front are 140t hydraulic cranes. Tip of their boom is approximately 75m above ground level. On that particular job, we'd just replaced the entire boom.
Cheers,

Normally anywhere from 3 to 7 days, depending on the Contract company, and how many guys they throw at it. It's not that big of a job really, but there's heaps of things that can go wrong.
Check out this video of what happens when things go wrong. No, that's not me swearing... I'm the guy holding the camera who is speechless...

Yeh, it was pretty crazy. But, no one was fatally injured, so that's a bonus!!
I might add, that I wasn't working for the crane company at the time. They specialise in major lifts all around Australia, and, as such, some of their cranes aren't compliant to the mining industry.
The issue with that lift, was the guy engaged the free-fall on the winch. That function is generally locked-out in most work site's - to avoid issues like the one on the vid.
I suppose, having to deal with problems like that, is why those guys are on the big bucks!!

I helped to build a $6m crushing plant. I was the "Hey mate, just jump in there for a minute." guy. I think If I wasn't there, none of the place would have been built

Not so super impressive, but, here's an Airsoft gun I just finished with.
Interchangable barrels, extended stock, some aesthetic mods, repaint, yadda yadda... uncreative client to say the least but it's new territory for me, so, worth posting. And, as per usual, it works flawlessly... packs a punch but frankly I'll stick to Nerf, more satisfying, more unique-looking, and the ammo can be found and reused. :p
