Re: best extra spring for longshot
I've only used a Nitefinder one in mine, but you can use a Bunning C-836 spring (i think that's right) spring if you reinforce everything, I've also heard of people using shortened k26 springs.

Re: best extra spring for longshot
the Nf spring is just a bit too weak, use the c-836 as Bradl3s said. If you are singling it then you may also want to replace the stock spring with something a bit more beefy.

Re: best extra spring for longshot
yeah, i have to agree, the nitefinder spring is a bit weak, but if you do use it, stretch it out to fill the whole size of the plunger as its will give it more compression and power, i think

I used the C-836 for over a year but just recently swapped it out for the LS +_ Recon spring combo. That works well.

Re: best extra spring for longshot
I use it with the NF spring because that way I don't have to reinforce my boltsled and still get roughly 80ft ranges.

Re: best extra spring for longshot
Oh god, stop suggesting to use those C-836 springs, they don't compress well. If you're going to use something easily found, use a nf spring. You're only going to get about 70ft but at least your gun will still be in one piece after a long while.

WTF 70ft? ive got a ls+recon+something else spring in my ls and its only getting an average of around 40+ odd ft flat.
although im using standared streamlines when i weight and tape them it its still only getting about that (mabey an extra 5 ft reliably)

Ok you must be on drugs.
- Have you taped that air hole barrel
- Have you O-ringed
- most important of it have you put silicone grease on the plunger head?

Re: best extra spring for longshot
I gotta go the C-836, I'm using it now and its great, just reinforce the boltsled by laminating it in 0.5 mm thick Aluminium and you're set.

You gotta use both hands on either side of the sled for one, but you may just be too weak, I'm 15 and reasonably large in build so its not a problem for me but you are quite a bit younger...

Re: best extra spring for longshot
yea i have my longshot with a recon spring in it, i measured today and its hitting 55feet with stock streamlines, but thats with a moderate side wind, and the dart was doing massive fishtails in the air. Is that about right for those springs, AR removal and whole plugged?

I have added a Maverick spring... Thats pretty good
Added a Raider spring.. Worked a couple of shots.. But now dosent have enough space to click, So I'm going to cut it down a bit

Re: best extra spring for longshot
You won't get much more then 100 feet out of a LS as far as I know.
My C836'd Nitefinder is too hard for younger people to cock.

Re: best extra spring for longshot
Honestly if you can get them - Winterstrike' springs on their own are the best.
The c836 is horrible, you'll wear out your catch
LS + NF is ok but you'd be lucky to get more than 60, 70 max.
Total bullshit to the guy who put a longstrike spring in and thinks he got 95....
Recon/lonstrike/raider/whatever other shitty reverse plunger gun springs are not bad additions
As far as stock springs go LS + Triple shot is probably one of the most powerful combos that wont break your gun, however Almost all my LS's use custom springs now

Umm I beg to differ Aj. My NF + LS spring can hit the back fence of my wall which is 25metres (I have measured) and that's with it slightly angled. However, average ranges are 20metres. I don't care if you call bullshit, but phuonguyen and my cousin are my witnesses.
Yeah Triple Shot + LS was a great combo. We haven't tried it out yet though. Inf0rm3r put it in as a combo but the coat hanger reinforcement sled kind of failed. So we never got to test it out.
I would use my TS spring but that's beefier than the NF so I have to reinforce my sled :(. I will replace the spring if I can find a replacement spring for my TS though.
Great Aj, now you made me want to TS spring in it... time to get a V2 spring for my triple shot. Or I could just use the V2 in my Longshot. Hmhmm.

If I go and put a Recon spring in my longshot will I have to reinforce anything, I want to put another spring in it but i dont have the materials to reinforce my sled.

Re: best extra spring for longshot
Recon spring should be fine. But I highly recommend a stretched NF spring. It works much better. Than replace your NF spring for your NF with a c836

So a stretched NF spring will work better then a Recon spring, but which one is less likely to make my Bsled break?

Surely in the selection of springs Bunnings sell, there's a good spring for the LS...

I stuck a c756 in mine. It's not as long as the plunger but combined with the stock spring it seems to work pretty well I'm not sure on ranges but I could test of someone wants to know.
